Teresa's NET Ministry Year!

Donation protected
Greetings from West St. Paul, MN where I am currently serving as a missionary for NET Ministries! I recently completed my first five weeks of faith formation and spiritual training. We liken this part of training to a spiritual boot camp because it equips all of us team members with the tools and skills, which we will need to serve the youth we will meet this year. One hundred fifty men and women between 18 and 27 from all over the USA (and three from Great Britain!) arrived in West St Paul on August 20th to begin five weeks of intensive prayer and ministry development! NET training focuses on deepening our relationship with Christ and our understanding of the Catholic faith. Because we “can’t give what we don’t have,” considerable time was devoted to helping us establish a consistent and fruitful prayer life where we can seek God daily and receive the grace to live as His disciples.

I first learned about NET Ministries through a dear friend named Jillian who also served as a NET missionary and she is now a member of the Sister of Life religious order. My calling to serve as a NET missionary was further strengthened during my conversations with Bishop Andrew Cozzens, who served as my spiritual director during my college years. I recently graduated from the University of St. Thomas with a major in music and a minor in Catholic Studies and my eventual goal is to become a director of liturgy and music at a Catholic parish. I believe my year of service with NET will only make me more prepared for this, both spiritually and professionally!

This is the team I am serving with for the year! We are known as the “Home Team” which means we will be serving the Catholic youth from the Diocese of Minneapolis-St. Paul.

As you may know NET missionaries are required to raise a minimum of $5,000 in ministry partnership funds in order to offset ministry expenses for the year. Thanks to much generosity I have achieved that goal!

I do, however, have one remaining hurdle to clear in regards to personal funding. Serving as a NET missionary also means foregoing a full-time salary, for a year. Because I still need to make student loan payments during my time on NET, I am humbly requesting donations from ministry partners. These gifts will be gratefully appreciated.

Although it is a challenge for me right now, I am very hopeful that God will provide a means for me to serve with NET and take care of this personal need as well!

Please pray for me and please send me any prayer intentions you might have!

      In Christ,
      Teresa
