Tau Boys,
I hope everyone's 2023 is off to a great start and this note finds you well.
As you may know, thanks to the tireless efforts of Steve Lerman, Jariel Bortnick, Ben Rauch and many others, our beloved Rho chapter has managed to stay afloat in the aftermath of COVID-19 despite effectively skipping two consecutive years of rush.
While TEP Rho is still alive, it is far from full strength which is why I am reaching out. Current leadership has done an excellent job keeping morale up and working to recruit a new class, but they are running out of funding.
To echo Ben Rauch's words from last year, I personally would like to have TEP Rho at Penn in the future; hopefully you all feel the same.
In connection with that effort we are raising a small amount of money to “fund” rush this year, help cover the dues/housing fees of potential new members that cannot afford them (3 rushes are the first in their family to go to college and cost is the primary obstacle to them joining the fraternity).
My hope is that everyone here can find a way to give at least a bit. The chapter is on pace to grow again this year, as well as collect significantly more dues from members and is making progress towards being self-sufficient. But it is not there yet.
I will be providing oversight with respect to how the money is spent, and will be happy to provide a summary of how the money is being allocated to any brothers at their request.
Thank you very much for your consideration and generosity. Your donations will be instrumental in returning the Rho chapter to its former glory.
TEPs are Tops,
Chris
