Tents for People Experiencing Homelessness

Sleeping outside or in encampments during a pandemic is incredibly dangerous for our neighbors experiencing homelessness that have no other options. Many of these folks would love the option to support our community's health and safety  by isolating their families in a tent.

With the protests and demonstrations for racial inequality beginning this past weekend, many existing tents and belongings were destroyed. 

Our goal is to raise $1000 to purchase tents for our community experiencing homelessness. This money will go directly to homeless outreach providers for the purchase of 1-2 person tents, such as the one in the link below. These will be immediately distributed to persons experiencing homelessness who have either lost a tent or are in need of shelter.

My name is Katie Rose and I am from Austin, TX, this is my hometown! I am the outreach and navigation system manager with Austin ECHO (Ending Community Homelessness Coalition), however this campaign was started personally and is not related in any official capacity to ECHO. I have worked in homeless services for 7+ years and these funds will be used to purchase tents, sleeping bags, blankets, and tarps for folks experiencing unsheltered homelessness that may have lost their belongings during the recent Black Lives Matter demonstrations.
