Hi All
If you live in Melbourne or moreso Moonee Valley you would have heard about the fire at Tennyson Street Essendon last night. Fires occur daily and impact many people, but this time it has impacted a truly beautiful, selfless family right before Christmas
The Gillman family have been there for 40+ years and in that time they have not only raised their family of sons and daughters, but also their many grand children. 40 + years of birthdays, Christmases, momentos, photos, memories gone in a matter of minutes.
Furthermore this house was a second home to many of the friends of the Gillman children, whether after school, or on weekends etc we would be there playing, all the while being treated like they were at home,
For myself being one of those friends, this was 20 + years ago and yet i am still thankful for their generosity and hospitality to this day, and i am saddened that this could happen to them.
To summise the Gillman family, would be the following, even after losing their family home, their castle in such a quick and devastating fashion overnight, today they will still make sure you were ok first, and offer their only clothes on their back to ensure you were looked after.
I have started this in the hope that as a community we can show some generosity to help them get on their feet a little quicker, or even yet just give them a chance to celebrate Christmas with their grandchildren and family like they normally would even with these circumstances.
Any donation big or small would be a great help, to an even greater group of people to try and have a Merry Christmas. The donation goal is just an amount, not a hard target as this site requires a figure. Again any donation would be appreciated
Thank you for reading the above.
