It been another unforgettable season for Tennis Weekly and we would hugely appreciate your support to help us make 2026 even more memorable! In 2025 we recorded a record number of podcasts (94!!) and after 8 seasons have reached 563 episodes and we are still going strong and our passion keeps growing thanks to our wonderful listeners and their crowdfund support. We have no plans to stop anytime soon and have big ambitions for next year when we hope to record daily episodes for all the grand slams and hopefully be on site for as many as we can!
It’s our listener support that allows us to remain independent and keep Tennis Weekly a labour of love hosted by three friends Joel, Kim and Chris as well as help from the wider team: our incredible designer Christoffer and on-site producer Alina. Each week we log on to catch-up and catch you up and we spend every minute we can outside of our normal day jobs marketing, designing, improving and growing the podcast so we can deliver the best podcast experience we can.
Thanks to our listeners incredible generosity in 2024, raising a record amount for the podcast, it has been another fantastic year. We still can’t believe we were accredited broadcasters and members of the press at Wimbledon for a second time and Chris and Alina were accredited in Paris to cover our first French Open, recording ‘Journals’ that elevated our Roland-Garros coverage to the next level. Tennis Weekly also made global news when we exclusively revealed Venus Williams wasn't playing Indian Wells which was picked up by publications from the BBC to The New York Times! We feel so lucky to have these experiences as well as being able to put your questions to the top players on the biggest stages in tennis, a dream that Joel never thought possible when he started the podcast 8 years ago.
We were also lucky enough to attend ATP and WTA tournaments across the season as media accredited journalists. We covered ATP and WTA Queens, with Joel securing an exclusive sit down with Amanda Anisimova and Chris and Alina once again travelling to the Stockholm Open to quiz Holger Rune and Casper Ruud as well as the Nordea Open.
We also rebranded with a new photoshoot and updated our visuals (see below) and moved to video podcasting for all our episodes and none of this professional and polished content would be possible without our unsung hero, Christoffer (pictured below editing at 2am in Paris), our hugely talented and generous pro bono designer who works tirelessly editing our video podcasts, making clips for social media, creating thumbnails and episode artwork late into the night each week to help us take the podcast to the next level.
However, improving and running the podcast comes at a significant cost. The podcast is not run for profit with sponsorship money being reinvested into covering the growing costs of podcasting including improving our tech capabilities such as our new microphones so we can record on site, the licenses for the software we use to record, our website and social media fees and where we can, supporting the cost of travelling and attending tournaments so we can give our listeners the ultimate fan insight into life on tour. It’s these costs and expenditures that make our annual crowdfunder so important in enabling us to keep running the podcast without too great of a negative balance sheet at the end of each year.
All of us at Tennis Weekly absolutely love producing the podcast for our listeners and your crowdfund support helps us to keep recording but also to keep improving and evolving our offering. For this reason any support no matter how large or small is hugely appreciated, from listening to donating we couldn’t be more thankful to our audience!
We hope you have a very happy and healthy Holiday season and we will see you in 2026 for another exciting season with Tennis Weekly at your side! We wouldn't have it any other way!
