Ten Tors COVID-19 event
Hi, my name is Ollie Guppy. Myself and four other friends, Sim, Calum, Adam and Ted, have taken part and completed the annual Ten Tors challenge on Dartmoor run by the army for the last two years. In our final year of school we were due to take on the Ten Tors 45 mile challenge but due to the coronavirus pandemic this was understandably cancelled. As we can no longer sit our GCSE's my friends and I would still like to take on this challenge and raise money for the NHS during these difficult times. We will each be walking the 45 miles in our back gardens and the local area with full event kit (all in our backpacks). We would be extremely grateful if you donate to support our hard-working NHS.
This will take place over two days, similar to how the actual event would be run. Starting on the 4th of May, we will walk as far as possible until dark. We will continue until 5pm the following evening. We aim to keep this as authentic as possible and as such we will be carrying all required equipment including tents, stoves, spare clothes and food.
(A big thank you to our parents and family for supporting us and our leader 'Mr Gray' for inspiring us for the past 3 years)
Many thanks,
Ollie Guppy (16)
Simeon Brown (16)
Ted Sansom (15)
Adam Rice (15)
Calum Duncan (16)
