I have a dear friend that is in need of help. She and her family are so quick to help and support others but have a hard time asking for help when they need it. So, I’m asking for help to support them.

Last summer, their youngest son's lead levels were super high... not high enough for hospitalization but high enough for it to be reported to the state.

The state did an inspection and found lead in every window, most doors, baseboards, and some walls... attic to basement.

They had a lien put on their house and were threatened to have their son removed until abated and $1,000 weekly fines.

Their son’s levels are going down, and they have been working with the DOH and County to figure out how to afford the nearly $60,000 worth of work.

They recently found out that the state is going to help them because of the risk of their son’s lead levels rising again!!!

This was a great relief to them.

Here is where they need help…

To do the work, they need to relocate for 10-14 days. They have to fully pack up their house and then not return until the work is done and approved by the DOH and environmental. The state is not helping them with this, nor is the insurance.

The funding will help them pay for housing for two weeks as well as finding temporary housing for their 3 dogs and cat.
