Temple Me, Please

First I would like to say, thank you. You did not have to take time out of your day to view my GoFundMe but you did, and for that I am extremely grateful.
For those of you who do not know me, my name is Maliyah Womack. I am a recent transfer student at Temple University and the journey here as not been an easy one. Before my acceptance to Temple I felt a little lost in the world. I felt, in general, a lack of passion for life itself. After being rejected from multiple colleges after high school, I attended Anne Arundel Community College for a total of about three years. I had faced rejection time and time again which deterred my spirit from even having the opportunity to experience college life the way my friends had. I spent years judging myself for not being at an official University and ridiculing myself for working more and taking less classes as the years went by. This past fall, I made the decision to apply to Temple despite my inner critic telling me to doubt myself. Luckily, I was accepted! This is one of the greatest blessing I have received this year. I was ecstatic to have been accepted and yet still, I remained reluctant to celebrate my acceptance. Its come to the beginning of my second semester and I still do not feel that I can truly celebrate this win.
I spent my first semester commuting from Maryland to Philadelphia every Tuesday and Thursday so that I could continue working while taking my classes. Everyone I know told me I was insane for this but honestly, I would do it all three years if I had to. Within my first semester, I fell in love with my University. I admired Temple prior to my acceptance but my admiration increased upon my attendance. Due to an amazing professor I had, I was able to become engaged with my college, meeting a numerous amount of renowned professors and students who made my transition one of bliss. I ended my first semester at Temple with an acceptance to the Communications Club as a Transfer Ambassador and a GPA of a 3.1. Even with the pandemic at hand, the students and faculty of Klein College made sure we felt at home at Temple. They made sure I knew I belonged there.
Despite all these amazing things that happened during my first semester, I come to you today because I am in dire need of help. Unfortunately, even after the use of financial aide, I am left with an outstanding balance of $15,000 on my tuition bill. I have gone to several family members in an attempt to take out a private loan to cover my remaining costs. Though they want to, none are really in a position to help. I am blessed to have their emotional support however, finances are out of the question. I have been applying to scholarships everyday since my acceptance and still no traction from any of them. I even applied to become an egg donor, in the hopes that if chosen, I would make enough in one cycle to cover my student debt. I even went as far as emailing my favorite professor to see if there was anything he could think of doing that I had not already tried. I have a tried a multitude of things to raise money for my tuition but unfortunately, I have not had luck so far.
The beginning of my semester is about a month away now. At this point, I am begging for help. Generally I am not the type of person to even make my predicament known because I fear that people will judge me but at this point, I care more about my education than anything else. If you are able to make a donation, no matter how small, I am extremely grateful. If are not able to make a donation but are able to share the link, I am extremely grateful. I not only want this education but, I need it. I would like to thank you again, for taking time out of your day to view my fundraiser. I hope after reading this you are able donate and if not donate, share this in the hopes that it reaches someone who can.
I am humbled and grateful for the time you have given to this cause. Thank you so much.
