Please help us purchase a mobility device for Temilade
Donation protected
Hi my name is Adebola Ajagunna and I am raising funds to help an enterprising young woman who needs a mobility device to be able to function more efficiently as she pursues her dreams despite her disability.
Temilade had an accident 12 years ago that resulted in a spinal cord injury. She has been dependent on a manual wheelchair for mobility since then. Temilade did not let her accident stop her dreams of acquiring more education and using her gifts and talents to impact the world. Temilade recently moved to Canada to continue her education at Brock University.
Temilade's use of a manual wheelchair limits her mobility and makes her dependent on others for mobility. Graciously, Temilade has been able to secure 65% funding for a mobility device modeled for her based on a medical assessment of her needs. She needs to come up with the remaining 35%, which is $11,500. Please see link to mobility device.
We have already raised $3000 from generous members of our local church. This fund was initially intended to purchase a stairlift when all we could find in terms of accommodation Temilade could afford when she arrived Canada were places with stairs. Graciously her school provided her accommodation that does not require her to climb stairs so we had no need to purchase the stairlift. The $3000 is being added to this fund drive. As such we need $7500 more to pay for the mobility device.
Your contribution towards this project will be a great relief to her as it would afford Temilade more independence.
Temilade tells her story and shares her experience with others in her books "Struck Down but not Destroyed " and "Eleven secrets of living with disability "
Thank you.
