Me llamo Sergio Luis y soy cineasta y tengo una profunda conexión personal con la protagonista de mi próximo documental: mi madre. Es una célebre escritora venezolana, ganadora del Premio Nacional de Literatura y una apasionada defensora de la cultura y la educación. Durante más de 40 años, fue profesora universitaria, inspirando a innumerables estudiantes y fundando un simposio literario que acercó la palabra escrita a un amplio público en su ciudad. Su obra como novelista, poeta y guionista ha dejado una huella imborrable en el arte latinoamericano.

Es urgente documentar su historia y el impacto de su obra mientras aún pueda compartir su voz. El documental, titulado "Dime si dentro de ti no oyes cómo se rompe tu corazón", inspirado en uno de sus cuentos, será un largometraje de 90 minutos. Incluirá entrevistas con colegas, estudiantes y artistas, así como material de archivo, fotográfico y animación para dar vida a su historia.

Al realizar este trabajo sobre la escritora Laura Antillano resaltamos la importancia que se tiene de quienes han dedicado su vida a inspirar a otros a través de su trabajo artístico. Estoy cubriendo los costos de cámara, equipo de sonido y postproducción, pero necesito tu ayuda para cubrir los siguientes gastos: transporte para todo el equipo de producción y costos de producción durante la filmación del documental en tres ciudades del país. My name is Sergio Luis, and I am a filmmaker with a deep personal connection to the subject of my next documentary—my mother. She is a celebrated Venezuelan writer, a national literature prize winner, and a passionate advocate for culture and education. For over 40 years, she served as a university professor, inspiring countless students and founding a literature symposium that brought the written word to a wide audience in her city. Her work as a novelist, poet, and screenwriter has left a lasting mark on Latin American art.

There is an urgent need to document her story and the impact of her work while she can still share her voice. The documentary, titled "Tell Me If Inside You, You Don't Hear Your Heart Breaking"—named after one of her short stories—will be a 90-minute feature-length film. It will include interviews with colleagues, students, and fellow artists, as well as archival film, photographic material, and animation to bring her story to life.

In undertaking this project about the writer Laura Antillano, we want to highlight the importance of those who have dedicated their lives to inspiring others through their artistic work.
