With heavy hearts, we share the sudden and heartbreaking loss of Tekleweyni Gebremariam (August 12, 1978 – July 13, 2025)—a kind, selfless, and deeply loved man.

Six years ago, Tekleweyni came to Canada with hope in his heart, determined to build a better life and eventually bring his beloved daughter, who remains in Ethiopia, to be with him. He worked hard and quietly helped others along the way—especially people from Israel seeking safety and new beginnings, just as he once did.

Tragically, before he could reunite with his daughter or see his dream fully realized, Tekleweyni passed away unexpectedly. Now, our family is left with deep grief and the urgent task of fulfilling his final wish: to return him to Eritrea, his homeland, where his parents and brothers are waiting to lay him to rest with love and honor.

Transporting him home and covering the funeral costs is more than we can manage alone. We are asking for your help—whether it's through a donation or simply sharing this page. ብዘሕዝን ሃንደበታዊ ሞት ሓውና ተኽለወይኒ ቐሺ ገብረማርያም ኣውዓሎም ብዕለት 12/08/1978 ተወሊዱ ኣብ መበል 46 ዕድሚኡ ድማ ካብዛ ዓለም ብምት ተፈሉይና። ተኽለወይኒ ለዋህ ፈቓር ንዓይ ይጥዓመኒ ከይበለ ንዝተሽሀገረ ሰብ ዝሕግዝ ዝነበረ አዩ፡ ብፍላይ ሓደሽቲ ስደተኛታት እግሪ ኣብ ምትካል ዪሕግዝ ምንባሩ ዝፍለጥ እዩ። ውላዱ ከምጽእ ምስ ጋሉ ክራኸብ ሕልሙ እዩ ነሩ። እምተኾነ ግን ዕድመ ሓጺራቶ ውላዱ ከይረኣየ ካብዛ ዓለም ተፈልዩ።

ኣብዚ ፈታኒ ግዜ ሬሳ ሓውና ተኽለወይኒ ናብ ሃገሩ ኤርትራ ናብ ወልዱ ንምልኣኽ ዓቕምና ድሩት ስለዝኾነ ኩሉ ኤርትራዊ ዓዓቕሙ ክሕግዘና፡ ንትሕትና ንላቦ።
