Hi Everyone! I’m Jody, Drenna Coveys daughter. In September, my Mom was diagnosed with MDS. It’s a rare form of blood cancer. Basically, her bone marrow is no longer producing healthy blood cells and platelets. There is no cure for MDS. Her only chance of surviving, is to have a bone marrow transplant. My mom has fought hard these last two months to reach a point where she’s healthy enough to receive a transplant. She is due to go into the hospital on December 16th to start the transplant process. Before the transplant they are requiring a solid plan of 24/7 care for about 2 1/2 months after her discharge. Our family is scattered all over the country. My mom doesn’t have the support system she requires near by. If we can’t provide a plan she will not be approved for the transplant. My Aunt DeDe came up with this amazing idea! We could have a fundraiser to help with her home care! I know money is tight this time of year but anything would be appreciated.
