Hi everyone, this past weekend, one of our dogs, Teggie, came in from a quick bathroom break in our back yard suddenly not bearing weight on her back leg. Unfortunately, the initial evaluation shows a full tear of her Canine Cruciate Ligament (the dog equivalent of our ACL). We suspect she was jogging around as usual and had a misstep while we weren't looking. Because it is likely a full tear, we are bracing for surgery. She still needs more evaluations though, such as an MRI, and will likely be on medication for a while. This fundraiser is for her medications and pre-surgery medical visits until we determine the next step, whether that is surgery (in which case, it's going to cost at least $5,000 on top everything else) or just home rehab. At the current moment, my mom has very little income due to health issues and her applying for disability this year and therefore not being allowed to work during the long application process, making this an extemely difficult financial situation. If any extra funds are raised, it will go towards any extra costs related to medication and surgery, which we are expecting her to need. Teggie is only 6 years old so we expect her to live for many more years and are hoping we can have her in good health for the rest of it. Thank you!!
