Katie's Surgery
Kim Jones' daughter, Katie, who just turned 18, is having major spinal surgery in June. She will be cut from sholders to tail bone, as they work to straighten her spine. In addition, Katie has Marfan Syndrome, so there are potential complications. It will takes months for Katie to heal and recover, under the best of conditions.
There will be a whole host of out-of-pocket expenses that Kim and Katie simply do not have the money to afford, such as:
- medications and medical supplies,
- a new bed for Katie that fits a very tall person,
- multiple sets of bed linens for regular changing (weeping bandages, hygenic healing environment),
- new clothes (weeping bandages, loose fitting during recovery, taller height post-surgery).
Plus, Katie will be attending her first semester of college at Marshall University this fall, from home, through online classes. They will likely need assistance with getting a laptop, and internet.
We want to host a musical fundraiser for Kim, and her daughter Katie, to help with these extra expenses. We are also hoping you will donate online here.
Katie is a very gifted singer and theatrical performer. It is our hope that, by meet their needs, Katie will have the best opportunity to heal, fully recover, explore and develop her artistic skills, and work towards a college degree.
