What are we doing?

On July 26th, a team of Tees Valley Judo members, coaches and parents will be taking on the Tough Mudder challenge. They will be battling through a 15km run layered with 20+ obstacles which involve plenty of mud, ice and electric shocks! All to raise funds to help Tees Valley Judo upgrade their facilities which will include a permanent sprung floor.

Who are Tees Valley Judo?

Tees Valley Judo is a non-profit club situated in Middlesbrough. We foster a strong sense of community and aim for everyone to reach their potential no matter the goals or ceiling. We welcome everyone and have a strong focus on encouraging people to get fit, build confidence and achieve their goals - whether that is earning a black belt, staying fit or competing at the highest level.

We cater for all levels, beginner to advanced, no matter the goal. However, have a strong focus on the competitive side of Judo. Over our 5 year history we have had members be part of the England Squad, GB Squad, GB University Squad, GB Para Potential Squad, as well as some been selected to represent Great Britain at various age band European and World Championships on top of one member being a full time athlete on the World Class Performance Programme, training at the Olympic Training Centre in Walsall.

Why a sprung floor?

Our members currently train on a basic mat area. Although it has served us well, it is time to upgrade it to help align with the clubs long term vision by making the setting more professional. Not only will it help support the development of current members, but it will allow us to increase and improve our current programme delivery capacity. This means we will be able to increase the amount of sessions we deliver each week, therefore increase the amount of people we welcome through our doors and have a greater impact on our local community.
