The Angels of Teensavers Children's School of Uganda, P.O. Box 112, Masaka, Uganda, East Africa. These innocents (and their saintly teachers) are in urgent need of medicines and mosquito nets (as they are at greatest risk for malaria now {June~July & Nov~Dec}. Teensavers now has more than 285 kids under it care, 150 of whom are abandoned children (as the result of war and famine ~ many arrived from South Sudan, disease ~ more than 50 are AIDS babies, similarly some children came to Teensavers from families ravaged by drug addiction). Teensavers’ mission is to save these kids from the fate of too many adolescents in Uganda (in our world , for that matter) ~ school dropouts, hopelessness, suicide, drugs, gangs, gender identity confusion, discrimination, bullying etc.) ~ to educate, house, feed and clothe them ... and offer spiritual growth as a freely given path they may follow if they choose to for dealing with life’s at times overwhelming challenges. Donations are asked (and too rarely received!) to provide academic supplies, nutritious meals (to include protein ~ a single bowl of maize flour porridge per day is not sufficient for a young mind to learn and grow), shoes and clothing, vegetable seeds for their school garden, bedding and firewood for cooking and boiling water. That’s right ~ it’s the 21st Century and these still don’t have potable, clean, safe drinking water! Teensavers kids have to take time out of their school day to haul water in heavy plastic jugs from a distant, dirty pond!
