Teens Take Control needs a bus

Mental health issues such as depression, disengagement and anti-social behaviour are not new amongst our youth, but the occurrences and negative knock-on effects are on the rise. Enough has been said and written about the many types of youth issues prevalent in our immediate community and beyond and our time to act is now.

But how can we help and who takes responsibility?
For the past 4 four years, the Teens Take Control (TTC) program has been making a positive difference to the lives of Sunshine Coast teenagers and those around them. It is a teen mentoring program designed by local business owner Brenden Wilkins and his team at Core Strength Fitness, TTC effectively guides and empowers teenagers to “take control” of their lives again.

Our kids are dealing with more issues every day, from social media bullying and increases in physical violence, to mental health issues, like depression and anti-social behaviour. TTC was developed to equip teenagers with the resilience, confidence and life-skills to face these challenges now and in the future. For the last four years we have self-funded the program, now widely recognised as a successful blueprint for harnessing the potential of our local youth and have delivered some outstanding results.

The TTC programs often see the students participating in various activities such as Surf Skills, Team Building and communication challanges, emergancy responce exercises and volunteer work, to do this we have used Maxi Taxi's which has come at a great cost to the organisation.
To continue with these amazing acitivities we would like to purchase a 12-14 seater bus that can move our students from task to taks.

How can you play your part in our community’s future?

By making any size donation you will be playing a great part in keeping our program going and growing.
We are reaching out to the Sunshine Coast for support and sponsorship and we are hoping you are willing to join us in making a positive difference.
