My name is Siyani Sheth. I’m 17 and a drama scholar at my school. I’m writing a play to share my story - my struggles with mental illness and the journey I’ve been on. I was diagnosed with depression, anxiety, and an eating disorder 3 years ago, at 15, and it's been a long and harrowing journey since then: hospitals, the UK mental health system, society's stigma and more. I want to raise awareness about these kind of issues, and to reach out to other young people and their parents suffering with similar things to show them they’re not alone.

I think the messages behind what I’m trying to create are so important and relevant to today’s society. I’ve teamed up with the charities Mind and YoungMinds to raise money for young people suffering with mental illness.

I need to raise money to hire a theatre to put this fundraiser play on - please help in any way you can!
