Teen Challenge Rio De Janeiro

Richard and Daisy (a Dutch-Brazilian couple) were touched by the desperate scenes they saw on the streets of Rio de Janeiro.

With the leading of the Lord, they opened Teen Challenge (Desafio Jovem) in 2019. Rio is one of the most beautiful cities in the world, but sadly it has an extremely dark side. There are many lives and families who have been devastated by homelessness and addiction.

Teen Challenge Rio de Janeiro is located in Casa Girassol, a middle-class neighbourhood in the North Zone of Rio de Janeiro.

I met Richard and Daisy a couple of years ago with my husband Michael, an ex-addict himself who went through the Teen Challenge rehab program in London.

I am personally touched by the work of this ministry as I can see how God used this vessel to reach into his life and through the power of Christ, he has been given freedom, hope, and has been raised up to the man he is today.

Teen Challenge is one of the world’s leading drug rehabilitation programs with a very high success rate for helping people become free from drugs and alcohol. It is a faith-based, holistic, residential drug rehabilitation program.

We’re all aware that 2019/2020 were tough years with Covid but Richard and Daisy persisted and they have started to build a men's rehab centre. They have many projects in mind but of course, nothing is for free.

Firstly, I am asking you for PRAYERS, they are frontline workers and the work they do is not easy, sometimes dangerous and they need our prayerful support.

Secondly, I am asking you for help by contributing financially to help them to improve their work and reach as many people as possible that are trapped in this darkness. However much you decide, it all will help Richard and Daisy toward fulfilling what God has called them to.
