Teela and Mikey's IVF Fundraiser
Donation protected
Hello everyone and Thank You in advance for taking the time to read our story.
For many of us, we don’t even realize what a blessing it is to have children. We complain about not getting enough sleep when the baby keeps us up, oblivious to the couples who yearn for it. That is why we are asking for your help, in supporting my daughter and son-in-law, with raising funds for IVF (In Vitro Fertilization).
For those of you who may not know Teela and Mikey, they are some of the most genuine, sincere, and sweet people you will meet (and Teela is also known as “The Baby Whisperer”, true story!) They’ve been inseparable for 11 years and officially tied the knot on November 20, 2016. As being God-parents to many, siblings to several, and Uncle and Auntie to countless, they’ve always known that they wanted to grow a family together, especially little soccer players. :)
With life’s challenges, after several years of trying to conceive, which has been an emotional roller coaster, they’ve decided to seek medical advice. Having gone through different doctors, excessive testing, treatments, and medications, Teela and Mikey were told that the only option for the possibility of conceiving a child of their own is IVF.
IVF is a medical procedure costing about $17,000 - $20,000 (of which is required up front) and their insurance covers none of the costs for the procedure or required medication. In addition to applying for grants and loans, we are hoping to raise funds to help pay for IVF and additional costs. Having this procedure gives hope to bringing them a little bundle of joy to their life. As much as they love their family and friends, the challenge to hide the depression presents itself when attending baby showers, kids’ birthday parties, and holiday celebrations.
As a family, we’ve come to terms to throw the pride away and ask for help. With the process already taking such an emotional and physical toll, and I imagine it will continue to, the last thing they need is the financial difficulty to contribute to this. So, every donation, no matter how small or large, is truly appreciated and helps ease the burden tremendously.
Thank you to everyone that has supported Teela and Mikey emotionally and all the warm thoughts and prayers are truly appreciated. Also, many thanks to all the friends and family members that initiated this fundraiser and continue to encourage Teela and Mikey to not give up on their own family. Love you all!
