David Teefy is a colleague and personal friend to many. More commonly known to everyone as “Teefy”. To know him is to love his kind generous heart. David, Debbie, Sean and Meghean need our help.
David has been struggling with an autoimmune disease since the middle of February. He was rushed to the emergency room on June 8th. The doctors said he was in acute kidney failure and we almost lost him. The doctors placed him on dialysis and worked to improve his blood pressure and save his life. He started to improve and then on June 22nd he suffered cardiac complications during a procedure to stop internal bleeding in his lower GI. While recovering, another emergency surgery was needed to fix a ruptured bleeding duodenal ulcer.
David is a fighter. He is still in ICU for now, and we know that he will improve, and he will be able to go home soon. But he has a long recovery ahead and the possibility of continued dialysis for a very long time.
If you know David, you will know he has won over all the nurses with his charm and crazy humor. All the things we know and love about him the most.
