Tee Off to make a difference

My name is Rohan Rao, and I am a 9th grader. I have been part of the First tee of Greater Trenton for over 6 years. The First Tee of Greater Trenton is a 501(c)(3) youth development organization in Mercer County, NJ that teaches children life skills through purposed golf lessons. By integrating the game of golf with a life skills curriculum, First Tee attempts to build inner strength, self-confidence, and resilience in participating children. The First Tee curriculum introduces Core Values, Life Skills, and Healthy Habits that are essential to becoming a good golfer and an even better person. At the First Tee of Greater Trenton, we are committed to further expanding our program by providing educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values, and promote healthy choices through the game of golf.

I have partnered with Fill it Forward, a company inspiring the world to reuse. With the funds you contribute, I plan of buying reusable bottles that come with a barcode. The concept is simple: every time you reuse the bottle, scan the barcode, and contribute money towards a charity that works to provide clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene. The proceeds from the sale of the bottles will go towards First Tee of Greater Trenton because no one is turned away from programs with First Tee of Greater Trenton regardless of their ability to pay the standard program fees.
