Teddy’s Spinalpalooza: Help Fund Spinal Surgery

Ted “Teddy” Pope. I’ve been married to my amazing partner and best friend Laura since 1993. We have two sons Saint Nick and Dylan. I’ve worked very hard all my life including farm work, greenhouse work, landscape maintenance, cooking seafood, washing dishes, waiting tables but all of it has been to support my family and my true work as a musician, artist and poet. In 2020 I began having so much pain I required a spinal fusion. Within the year I’d also had a hip surgery and still need another. In 2022 I also received a spinal surgery on my neck. It’s 2023. My original Spinal Fusion from 2020 broke several months ago. The hardware is damaged as are more vertebrae. I can barely walk. I am in constant agony. The pain is more than I can stand but I stand it because what else can I do? I need surgery. Our family finances are tapped. The medical bills we already owe seem insurmountable. Now I need $4,000 paid in advance to schedule surgery. I’m requesting help reluctantly. I don’t know where to turn. The hardships I’ve put my family through weigh heavily on me. They’ve been wonderful. They’re beautiful people and if not for me then please donate to help them. I’ve lost four years of my life to this. I’m left handed I spend as much time as possible writing and painting my left hand has been numb for two years it doesn’t help the art. I swim every day I can but for the last two years my legs won’t even kick in tandem. This condition has taken everything from me except my family. Thanks for help.
