Hi, my name is Meg, I'm the mum of a very special little guy called Teddy.

Teddy was born with Cerebral palsy and a brain condition that causes epilepsy, which means that he needs lots of extra help to learn, move and play. He has low vision and some hearing problems, but that doesn't stop him from being the most loving, sweet boy who loves cuddles and playing with his sister.

Attending the hospital can be quite traumatic for him as he has experienced medical trauma and going out, even just to a cafe can over-stimulate him. My hope is that he will be able to be comforted and assisted by a constant companion in a service dog, and as he grows he will be able to be assisted in his movement and daily tasks.

I have decided that for Teddy, the best breed for him will be a St Bernard. As Teddy will likely be confined to a wheelchair, this breed of dog will be tall enough to rest his head on his lap, plus they are highly regarded as one of the very best service dogs. (think Nana from Peter Pan) I have made contact with a wonderful breeder who has bred her dogs to have the gentle, patient docile nature that Teddy will need in a best friend.

The cost of the Puppy is $7500 with an additional cost of $500 for transportation and a crate.

I am hoping that our community can assist me in reaching our goal to give Teddy the best buddy he deserves and make our lives all the richer.
