Help Teddy Walk Again After Emergency Spinal Surgery

Donation protected
In less than one week, our healthy 5-year-old dog Teddy went from running around the house doing zoomies to suddenly being unable to walk.

An emergency MRI revealed a severe spinal condition that required immediate surgery to prevent permanent paralysis. Teddy’s life-saving care has cost $14,656, and we are asking for help to cover his veterinary bills while he recovers.

Update (March 8, 2026): Teddy successfully underwent spinal surgery. Thankfully there were no complications, and his neurologist team is confident he will make a full recovery. He will remain in the hospital for a few days while he begins recovery.

Update (March 10, 2026): Teddy has been discharged from the animal hospital and is now recovering at home with 24/7 care.

Teddy’s Story:
Teddy went from a happy, playful dog to suddenly being unable to walk in less than a week.

Teddy just turned 5 years old this January. He is our beloved family dog—full of energy, always playful, and famous for his zoomies that make everyone laugh.

On March 1, Teddy suddenly became very sick with vomiting and diarrhea.
Over the next few days, his condition rapidly worsened. He stopped eating and drinking, developed a fever, and showed signs of severe pain—trembling, panting, yelping when touched or moved, reduced activity, knuckling of his paws, and an arched back.

Within six days, we sought three different veterinary opinions. Despite multiple vet visits, tests, and medications, Teddy continued to decline.

By March 7, he could no longer walk and collapsed whenever he tried to stand.
We rushed him to an emergency hospital, where he was referred to another emergency specialty hospital to see a neurologist. The vet explained that because Teddy was declining so quickly, waiting another week for surgery was not advised, as he could become permanently paralyzed without immediate treatment.

An MRI revealed a serious spinal condition called Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD) that required emergency surgery.

Teddy is such a special part of our family, and seeing him go through this has been heartbreaking. We are doing everything we can to give him the chance to walk, run, and play again.

However, the cost of emergency hospitalization, MRI imaging, neurological care, and surgery is overwhelming.

If you are able to donate, share this page, or keep Teddy in your thoughts, it would mean the world to us.

Every contribution helps support Teddy’s recovery and gives him the chance to return to the happy, playful dog we know and love.
