Hi, my name is Alissa Rodriguez!

My little brother and I were in foster care when we were little before we came to our forever home here in San Diego. Luckily we were only in foster care for a short time but even then it had an impact on us. When we went to court for our adoption day I received my very own teddy bear which I still have to this day several years later. That bear gave me hope, letting me know that everything would be okay. I will be okay. My senior year I raised over 1,000 dollars to buy teddy bears for foster youth. I donated to a lovely organization named Voices For Children. Many wonderful generous donars dontated and I am absolutely grateful for each and every one of them! One thing that stuck with me is that I did a full circle the day I donated because it was on my graduation day, and I couldn't have done it without the support of my family I have now. That day I realized I was not done yet, I had more work to do! That's where I need your help! I would like to make this a yearly thing to help Raise money to buy teddy bears for the youth. This time it will not only be teddy bears, I plan on buy things for the older youth as well. Things such as, hoodies, water bottles, and journals!! Thank you so much! I plan to donate either in May when we first came to our forever home or in December when we became an official family ! ❤️
