Teddy’s Emergency Veterinary Bills

“The face of a Golden Retriever feels like home.” -David Rosenfelt

Teddy started acting strange towards the end of March and stopped eating. We had a vet visit on March 28, where the vet assured me everything seemed fine. A few days later, I could tell things were still off so back we went. After an x-ray showed foreign objects in Teddy’s stomach and possibly intestines, were immediately transferred to VSS (Veterinarian Speciality Services which he underwent an emergency exploratory surgery to see what was there. It was too late and the object (a rubberband like material) was already in his intestines and caused multiple perforations. They removed part of his intestines that were not salvageable. After surgery they were optimistic but things were much worse internally than they were anticipating. He became septic and they were worried about pancreatitis. He underwent plasma transfusion and another type of transition to help him get more protein in his body. He’s been unable to eat since 4 days before his initial surgery, so a feeding tube was placed. They continue to do everything they can for Teddy so he can come home to his family who loves him unconditionally. The vet estimate at the start wss $3-5,000. We’ve been informed it was grown to closer to $7,000 and rising due to being transferred to the critical care team. We are remaining hopeful he will make it out of this but only time will tell. We know he’s a fighter. With covid, they have not allowed me to visit, but once, so he’s gone days without seeing me. Brett is currently training for the United Stated Army and is not allowed to be with us during this time.

Some background on Ted:
Teddy was born September 17, 2017 near Los Angeles, California. After seeing his sweet face, Brett and I drove from 29 Palms, California to meet him and his brother. We sat and waiting to see which of the two would approach us first. Teddy came running over to us and from that moment we knew he was meant to be apart of our family. He has been involved in every major moment of our lives since then. He attended our wedding, moved with us from California to Hawaii and spent years going to the beach and enjoying the sunshine. He traveled to Missouri with me during one of Brett’s deployments and was with me after I gave birth to his sister. He never left my side. We’ve pictured our future and that picture always has Teddy included. We would never allow money to hold us back from potentially saving his life. We’re willing to do anything to keep him with us, which is why I’m starting this go-fund me. If you see it in your heart to donate, we thank you.
