In mid February 2020 Ted got a cold while visiting Cordoba, Spain. After about a week and a half his immune system defeated the cold and Ted went back to sightseeing. Two days later his immune system was not done fighting and began to turn on Ted. On the morning of February 27 Ted woke up unable to use his hands or feet. His wife Lois got him to the hospital where he was diagnosed with Guillian Barre Syndrome. Within 24 hours Ted was around 95% paralyzed and was only able to move muscles in his face. Doctors there ordered six days of plasmaphareses On day six he was able to wiggle his fingers. Today he is around 40% paralyzed but has daily improvements.
Ted and his wife Lois are insured through Medicare which does not work outside of the US. To date the cost has risen to over $40,000. His daily bill climbs every day by another $1,000 We have arranged a medical flight to get him out of Spain which is a Coronavirus hotspot. The cost of the air ambulance is $96,300.
Please help Ted and Lois get out of this terrible situation before they themselves get the Coronavirus
Thank you, Jeremy Wadleigh
