Ted Sierer and his cancer battle #siererstrong

Donation protected
Ted hadn’t been feeling well for a few months and ended up in the ER on Thanksgiving night. After lots of tests he was originally told that they thought he had stage 4 colon cancer with a pretty grim prognosis. After many more tests, many inspired doctors working behind the scenes, so many tender mercies, a ton of praying and fasting by so many friends and family he got the biopsy results back and he does NOT have colon cancer, however, he does have Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma to be exact. Still cancer. Still stage 4. Still scary, but hopefully more treatable.

If you know Ted, you know that he does not back down from a fight. Ted was a high school and little league wrestling coach for almost 3 decades at Brighton and Highland High Schools, coaching hundreds of young men throughout that time.  Not only was he their coach, he was their friend and advocate.  He considers them all “his boys” and loves to keep in touch with as many of them as he can.  He is also a high school Psychology teacher at Highland High School and loves teaching!  It is definitely his calling in life.  Besides teaching, Ted is a faithful and active member of his church and has spent many hours serving his neighbors, supporting, and helping out those in need.

Since his diagnosis, his faith, strength, and resilience, as well as a determination to fight has inspired us all.  In his own words regarding his cancer diagnosis, he said, “I used to tell my wrestlers to ‘Respect everyone, but fear no one.’ This is how I feel about this current opponent I am going up against.  I definitely respect all that having cancer means, but I do not fear it. The reason I do not fear it is because I am not in this match alone.  When I was competing, there were many moves I didn’t know how to do. I was essentially left with just my abilities.  With this match, I know the Lord can do all the moves I can’t. I am not limited to just my own abilities.  All I need to do is take care of everything I can do, and He will take care of what I can’t. I have the Savior of the world and the God of the universe, who knows beginning from end, wrestling this match with me. ”

Ted is the amazing father of four beautiful children, Jaren, Colin, Savannah, and Greta and husband to Stacey.  He is their greatest fan and biggest supporter and now it’s our turn to support him in this battle against stage 4 Lymphoma.  He knows he has a fight ahead of him but he also knows he has the Lord on his side and with Him all things are possible!! Let’s help Ted and his family do all they can do to win this match!

Your generous contribution will go directly towards easing the burden of medical and household bills, and will allow Ted and Stacey to focus their efforts on Ted’s health and keeping life as normal as possible for their children without the stress and worry of how they are going to pay for his medical bills and on-going treatment.

If you are in a position to donate to the #Siererstrong fund, we know the family will be so incredibly thankful.  If you are not in a position to donate, we know they would love all the prayers they can get and would love for you to share this Go Fund Me with anyone you feel that it would be appropriate to do so.  We wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and thank you for your overwhelming kindness and generosity!!  Let’s support the Sierer family and win this wrestling match together!!!  #Siererstrong
