As an 8th grade middle school teacher in Sacramento, I feel so lucky to work with the group of students in my Student Leadership class.  Besides developing leadership skills and character traits, my leadership class plans and runs activities and events that promote school spirit and a positive school culture.  

But something we've struggled with all year is our limited access to technology.  Right now we just have one, old, obsolete MacBook that gives us the “spinning wheel of death,” and USB ports that don’t work.  
My goal is to raise money to purchase Macbook Pro laptops to use in Student Leadership.  Leadership class needs the technology to create publicity commercials and spirit videos, internet research to reach out to companies and organizations, purchase items for events, and create flyers and posters.  That one old macbook does not meet the needs of our Leadership class and all the events and activities we try to plan.

This will mean so much to the students who experience frustration working with an obsolete laptop.  Sometimes they spend a whole class period just trying to troubleshoot.  Having the technology will make a difference in helping the students accomplish their goals.  Thank you.
