Tara’s medical bills

Hi my name is LaWanda and I am fundraising for a friend and co worker Stephen Jackson, whose wife, Tara, was just diagnosed with a brain tumor. They have twin 17 year old daughters.

Wednesday morning, Tara began having stroke like symptoms (right eye was blurry ,then left hand went numb, she wanted to lay down and felt weird then left cheek numb.) Her husband took her to the hospital and they did a CT scan and saw she either had a brain bleed or possible tumor. The hospital she was at did not have the equipment, so they careflighted her to Harris Methodist.

She got her MRI and they told us she has about a tennis ball sized brain tumor, and it had likely been there around 3-5 years. She was going to get a biopsy Thursday, but she had been on aspirin, it is now scheduled for Wednesday. Yesterday they took her for more extensive MRI’s, and the doctor is going to let her be discharged today, on seizure medication and come back for the biopsy Wednesday.

She had a complete body scan to make sure cancer was not in other parts of her body, and it was completely clear! After the biopsy, he will look at everything and most likely do surgery a week after and remove it. A biopsy is planned for Wednesday 2-7-2024, but already the medical bills are mounting as she had to be airlifted to Harris hospital in downtown Fort Worth. The stress of having to deal with treatment plans along with the uncertainty about what the future holds is quite overwhelming without the added burden of the mounting financial strain. I just want to do what I can to help in some small way.
