TeamXander’s spinal surgery recovery
Hi, this is my son Xander. Unfortunately, at just 6 years old, Xander just had his 3rd spinal surgery with his second full pin halo placement, second bone graft harvesting, and screw implants placed. Unfortunately, Xander’s first two surgeries were unsuccessful, and wrought with major challenges and complications, as terrible as 2 full code blues, one on has first birthday. Yes, my son died on his first birthday. For the past 5 years, my life has been devoted to keeping Xander safe, his neck stable, and still let him live the life every child deserves. Xander’s life as he knows it has been taken from him, he was a kid that lived to run!!! Due to the extreme nature of Xander’s very rare spinal condition, surgery, and intense aftercare and recovery, I have taken an extended leave of absence from my job at a local animal hospital as an RVT (registered veterinary technician) because Xander requires round the clock bedside care as he is unable to independently move. I find myself in a position of needing assistance from this wonderful community of people that love and care for Xander, wanting him to thrive. Other than your outpouring of prayers and love, any amount of financial assistance would be greatly appreciated during this dire time of need, to make sure I can adequately provide for my son and his needs. Every penny will be put straight towards Xander’s ever growing requirements, for not only his physical recovery, but also my sons mental health, as well. Please spread the word and the love!!!! #TeamXander
