This year #TeamViolet will be supporting four great causes below and hopefully reach our target, which will enable all four to make a difference to so many people.

Edie’s Kindness Project

Edie Jackson, our beautiful Warrior Princess and the bravest girl we know, lost her 14-month battle with DIPG in January 2021 – she is forever seven.
We are sad because she is no longer with us, although the 7 years of beautiful memories we have will always live on, but also proud at the life she led and the legacy she left. A big part of this was Edie’s kindness, which shone through above all else. Whether sharing her toys, giving away her clothes, baking her beautiful cakes or biscuits or using her own money to buy people things; she always wants to make others smile.
With this in mind, the family wanted to be able to help other families who find themselves faced with the difficulty and devastation of DIPG. 'Edie's Kindness Project' is a fund aimed at supporting other DIPG families, relieving some of the burden for them and trying to make things a little easier, and of course making them smile – just how Edie would’ve wanted!

Abigail’s Footsteps

We are a baby loss charity providing support and counselling for bereaved parents and families as well as specialist bereavement training for midwives and healthcare professionals.
Since 2010, we have worked to improve the way bereaved parents are cared for by hospitals and to better educate midwives on how to care for grieving parents. Sadly, stillbirths and neo-natal deaths occur daily, yet many hospitals are not equipped to deal with the parental care required, they have inadequate facilities and their staff receive little to no bereavement training.
By working with medical professionals to understand the issues and seek solutions our charity has helped many families. One of our greatest contributions as a charity has been the creation and funding of the Abi cooling cot which allows parents valuable time to spend with their baby before saying goodbye. These cots are distributed UK wide wherever the need and as funding allows.

St Clare Hospice

St Clare Hospice is a charity providing specialist palliative care to improve the lives of people affected by a life-limiting illness in West Essex and the borders of East Hertfordshire. Our approach to care enables people, their families, and carers to make the most of every moment together, no matter how long they have left to live, supporting them whether at home or in the Hospice.

Our Car, We offer a range of free palliative and end of life care services to suit the needs of all local people who are facing death, dying and bereavement. We also offer community-based, volunteer-led support to help support local people in relation to living, and dying, well.

Violets Son-Rise

Violet has Autism and Sensory Processing Disorder, a condition in which the brain has trouble receiving and responding to information that comes in through the senses. This means that simple everyday tasks such as walking along a street, looking at a book or being in a shop can result in a sensory overload which is hugely overwhelming and distressing for Violet. Life isn't easy for our little girl.

Violet also has an immune deficiency which means her body doesn’t fight illness and continuously fights against her own body.

Violet's progress over the last 8 years has been fantastic, and we continue to see improvements in her communication and social interaction. Violet is now 14 and attends The Columbus School, a carefully selected special needs school in Chelmsford. Monies raised will continue to fund her sensory treatment and help provide new equipment for Columbus School to support Violet and other children with their learning and development needs.

This year we have 250 children and hopefully over 140 adults taking on this year’s challenge along with numerous companies, friends and family .
