#TeamTiberius! Help Tiberius fight AML Leukemia

On May 25th Enrico and I were given news that no parent ever wants to hear, "your child has leukemia." We were quickly sent to Providence Children's Hospital in Anchorage and told to pack an overnight bag. Enrico was on his way to his job and was on the flight when the news came. He quickly jumped on the next flight back home.
After a long day of testing, procedures and biopsy's, we thought we would get some rest.
Tiberius’ bone marrow biopsy came back with a big surprise. He has the AML variety of leukemia. It is rare. According to our Alaska oncologist, about 15% of leukemia cases are the AML variety. Unfortunately, this cancer cannot be treated in Alaska. So, with less than an hour notice, Tiberius and I boarded a medevac to Seattle Children’s Hospital.
The oncologist estimated we will be here for the next year battling his cancer.

Today is a big day for us. We will meet the team working with us and lay forth the battle plan. We will learn more about the exact type of leukemia he has, what stage we are in (if applicable), and if there are any chromosome abnormalities. The AML variety requires a more intensive treatment plan.
Rico will arrive later tonight on a regular flight and we will figure out our housing situation once he arrives.
Unfortunately, Rico is the only person working at this time, and will need to take extended leave to be with our youngest son. All funds will help us during this time of uncertainty.
If you can not donate, please pray for us and our sons Damien, Quincy, and Tiberius. Our family is close and we will be separated during this time.
Tiberius’ first surgery will be in the next day or two to place his chemo port and do a spinal tap to look for cancer in his brain.
