Team Thrill BUnited is comprised of young scholar-athletes across the city and counties of Baltimore. There are way too many of our young black youth hanging out in the streets, getting into trouble and wandering aimlessly through life with no goals. My team of young men are dedicated to their dreams, getting good grades, practicing in the gym 4 to 6 days a week and traveling the country in competition.
During the recent violence that plagued our city, these young men were being recruited into the top High Schools in the city- Boy's Latin, MSJ, Mt. Carmel, Calvert Hall, Eastern Tech and Baltimore City College, just to name a few. Basketball has been a constructive outlet that keeps my young men focused on being positive contributors to the community and leaders to their peers. They are all invested in their education and understand how they can use athletics as a vessel that can assist them in accomplishing their goals. We live in a very violent city, I would appreciate any assistance possible in my endeavor continue cultivating this group of young men to be more, to do more and to see more than just what Baltimore has to offer them.
We have competed as a team in Las Vegas, Ohio, North Carolina, Pennslyvania, New Jersey and Virginia Beach. We now have an opportunity to participate in AAU's 2016 Nationals Competition down in Orlando, Florida this summer (July).
Any amount you can donate will be appreciated!!
Sincerely,
James Mitchell, Team Thrill BUnited Head Coach
