#TeamTatum Brings the Battle: Round Two

Donation protected
In February 2023, Benton Community sophomore Tatum Schroeder was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. After several months and several rounds of chemotherapy at UIHC Stead Family Children’s Hospital, Tatum was considered in remission in May 2023. She completed two more rounds of her chemotherapy throughout the summer and was released in September 2023 in remission. In November, the family got the news that Tatum’s cancer had returned and they’ve been battling ever since. Tatum is currently in Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Ohio getting clinical trial treatments to get to the end goal of a bone marrow transplant.

The Schroeders need our help, even though they’re rarely (if ever) ask for it. Time and time again I’ve been in awe of our incredible community for uniting together for one of our own. We are now coming to the community for support, whether by prayer or financial donation. I’m humbly asking our incredibly supportive community to help fund this mission. Tatum’s mom, Shannon, has been off work for the better part of a year. Tatum’s dad, Brad, has been able to work but will be headed out to meet the family in Ohio soon, potentially having to take time off in the near future.

If you feel so led, please give and/or share Tatum’s story to help surround the family with support in the best way our community knows how.
