On March 23, 2017, Ron went to a local emergency room for an excruciating pain in his hip that made it impossible to walk without the assistance of a walker. After running a series of test, the doctors diagnosed Ron with lymphoma cancer. Lymphoma is cancer that begins in infection fighting cells of the immune system, called lymphocytes; basically cancer of the lymphatic system.
With the diagnosis of lymphoma, Ron will need extensive treatment. Ron was admitted into Anne Arundel Medical Center on March 23, 2017 and transferred to The Johns Hopkins Hospital on March 24, 2017. While there, Ron had many test and began his treatment to start attacking the lymphoma. Ron had his first session of chemotherapy on Wednesday, April 5, 2017. Ron will be treated with five (5) additional sessions of chemotherapy to shrink the tumor and hopefully, rid his body of the lymphoma cancer. In addition, Ron will have several sessions of physical therapy to strengthen his hip and return to walking unassisted.
Although Ron has medical insurance, there are many unexpected expenses that medical insurance will not cover. Ron will continue to need several medications and assistive devises to aide in his recovery. Any support that you may provide is greatly appreciated. All donations will go directly to Ron’s medical expenses, medicines, and anything else needed during his recovery.
