My son Kareem Turner is 13 years old and has been living with sickle cell disease his whole life. 7 years ago he had a major stroke which almost took his life. Since than we have been fighting an up hill battle with monthly transfusions, blood exchanges, fighting seziures, going in pain crisis and trying to protect his organs from damage from some of the medications. When we were approved for bone marrow transplant we were overjoyed. After going through 3 donors we finally started our journey on November 3, 2017. It has been a long hard journey physical, emotionally and financially so today we are asking for help. My husband as been our only means of financial support but after being in the hospital for so long it has been hard, I am with my son 24/7. Kareem has two older sisters living at home as well, we are all feeling drained and a little stressed. The donations made on here will go to Kareem's medical, transportation, supplies that will be need for home care when that time comes and everyday living cause as most of you know staying in a hospital for 48 days plus gets expensive. We thank everyone in advance for your help and support during our journey!!
