Praow Moevao's Fight Against Cancer
Donation protected
This campaign was started as a labor of love and support for Praow, Levi and their daughter Zyon (age 7) as they navigate through this life change. This fund is for all the family and friends who want to do something, are too far, or simply aren't sure how.
What started earlier this year for Praow as lower back pain, quickly grew very severe in the short span of a few months. Praow, the trooper that she is, continued to go to work, even though she was in pain and constantly nauseous. She entered the ER twice, but the doctors told her that it was likely stomach uclers. She ate crackers and bland food to help quell the sickness.
On Saturday, August 1st she was admitted to Long Beach Memorial Hospital and underwent a series of tests. 2 days later, she had a grapefruit-sized malignant tumor and 50% of her liver removed. She spent the next 3 weeks at Long Beach Memorial recovering from surgery and trying to manage her continued pain.
She is still awaiting a treatment plan, which will likely include daily radiation and/or chemotherapy. The type of liver cancer she has is very rare and aggressive stage 4, so she will need to see specialists. She is still in a lot of pain daily.
For those of you who don't know Praow, she is very talented and creative, and recently obtained her BA in Animation. She loves her family, comic book movies, changing her hair color and good food. She is so young, barely 28, and she doesn't smoke or drink (another reason why this news has hit so hard).
The funds will assist with medical expenses, travel for Levi (he is still working in Oregon to support the family, coming home as frequently as he can), flying her parents to the U.S. from Thailand, and keeping Zyon in gymnastics. This last one is particularly important to Praow, as she wants Zyon to have a sense of constancy.
Praow and Levi appreciate all of the support thus far, be it prayers, visitation, monetary, food, or checking in. Please continue to keep Praow & family in your prayers.
Thank you for your time and support, we will post updates as things progress.
**FYI GoFundMe deducts 8% of each donation. If you would like to make a donation directly to avoid the fees, please contact me or anyone in the family.
PS. Praow I know you probably cringed at least 10 times while reading this (she doesn't like being the center of attention) so with all that being said, LOVE YOU PRAOW! Time to #KickCancersAss!
