Veteran's SD-inTraining Needs Hips
NO VETERAN AND NO DOG LEFT BEHIND!!!
Pink is a two-year old, lab-mix. He is a PTSD Service Dog in Training (SDiT) in desperate need of a double hip replacement. He was was adopted from a local rescue and paired with his Veteran, John, in February 2016.
John is a US Army Veteran who served from 2008-2012 and was deployed to Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom. Pink and John bonded immediately and began Service Dog training with Empowering Patriots to ease the effects of John’s PTSD.
Sadly, Pink has been diagnosed with severe hip dysplasia and arthritis in both of his hips. He is in tremendous pain and currently unable to help John. They are both in crisis and need our help.
Pink desperately needs surguries to replace both of his hips, otherwise, he will have to be retired and euthanized. His hips are THAT bad. Losing Pink would have detrimental effects on John who depends on him.
The good news is, specialists at Purdue University Small Animal Hospital believe with the surguries and physical therapy, Pink has an excellent chance of recovering 100% and the ability to perform 100% for his Veteran!!! Pink's surgury is scheduled for December 20, 2016!
The expense of Pink's surgeries, veteranarians, physical therapy as well as John's traveling and lodging expenses will exceed $12,500.
