Team O-Dog's Kidney Transplant

My son, Owen Balderson has struggled with Chronic Kidney Disease since he was 8 years old. As a family, we have watched Owen be one of the most active young boys - baseball, basketball, tennis, NJROTC and more. Over the years, activities on that list have become limited due to his condition deteriorating. Now at the age of 17, through the adolescent years and much medication to maintain his one functioning kidney, he is now at the point where his kidney is failing and must obtain a new kidney through a living donor. I am most fortunate to be a match and share one of my kidneys with him. As a mother, you do whatever it takes to give your child the quality of life he or she deserves!
