A fundraiser for Akron Children's Hospital Expressive Art Therapy
Neela is a 14 year old sophomore who has been bravely fighting leukemia for the past eight months with grit, humor, and heart. A trombone player who loves all things art, nails, and makeup, she brings color and creativity everywhere she goes. Known for her kindness, imagination, and strong sense of justice, Neela continues to inspire everyone around her.
Throughout her illness, Neela reaches out to various forms of art as creative expression supports her healing. It offers space for self-expression, positive coping, and moments of peace.
The Emily Cooper Welty Expressive Therapy Center (ETC) at Akron Children's Hospital provides holistic healing through creative arts therapies. The arts are used to transform the hospital environment and create meaningful opportunities for expression, connection, and self-identity. The ETC is open to all staff, patients, and families who receive care from Akron Children's. Services are provided at no cost and do not require insurance.
