Jessica Jones of Gloucester, MA and Mark Martineau of Salem, MA are the proud parents of three beautiful daughters: Presley (4yrs), and twins Ava and Mila (19 months old).
On January 16, 2016, Jess and Mark were informed by the Doctors at Children’s Hospital news that no parents want to hear. Mila had been diagnosed with a form of cancer known as Embryonal Rhabdomyosarcoma. Within a short period of time, Mila was seen by numerous doctors from Dana-Farber / Boston Children’s Hospital and a treatment plan was developed.
On Monday, January 25th, Mila underwent surgery to remove a large, growing tumor. Mila and her family displayed immeasurable strength through this difficult time and the surgery was a success! The family is now preparing to take on the next phase of treatment, which entails weekly chemotherapy at the Jimmy Fund Clinic in Boston for 48 weeks.
As anyone can imagine, it has been a difficult time for Mark and Jess during these last few weeks. With love and strength they embark on this upcoming journey with the sole focus on Mila’s health.
The financial and emotional burdens they will endure cannot be understated. With your help “Team Mila” can be a way of providing support for the Martineau family so they can continue to provide a stable and nurturing environment for Mila, Ava and Presley.
