Stefan and I are competing in the August Rickshaw Run.....That may not have been our best idea.
Raising money for charity however was!
The Rickshaw Run is a 3,500km pan-Indian adventure in a 7 horsepower glorified lawnmower. It is easily the least sensible thing to do with three weeks.
That, however, is the challenge we have set ourselves in order to raise some much needed money for three very important causes. We're aiming to raise at least $5000AUD to be split equally amongst Cool Earth, The Choice To Change and the Habitat for Humanity Disaster Response Fund.
Habitat for Humanity -
With the number of Nepalese colleagues we have, and the tragedy that has hit their homeland - It really is something that has greatly affected all of us. With that in mind the first charity we'd like to see supported is the Habitat for Humanities Disaster Response Fund.
Around the world, natural disasters claim lives and leave millions homeless each year. War, conflict and civil unrest also create millions of refugees and internally displaced people. Habitat’s Disaster Response provides shelter assistance, education, training and partnerships to those affected by disasters.

Cool Earth -
Cool Earth is a charity that works alongside indigenous villages to halt rainforest destruction. Over the last 40 years, half the world’s rainforests have been destroyed. Cool Earth are seriously cool.

The Choice to Change -
The Choice To Change was founded by Eva Kernova, a citizen of Slovakia resident in the UAE and Sunil Baroi, a citizen of Bangladesh resident in Dhaka in July 2010. They chose to change the lives of poverty-stricken children in the slums of Dhaka by paving an educational pathway for them to follow. Attaining any type of formal education would have been impossible for these underprivileged children without the help of such a non-profit organisation. Their aim is to break the endless cycle of poverty in the slums of Dhaka, Bangladesh, by providing a primary education and basic health care to the underprivileged children that the foundation works with.

With only a few months to go until we set off we need all of the help we can get in reaching our target of $5,000AUD! Everything raised will be split equally amongst the 3 charities listed above.
Please help us so that we can all help make the world that little bit more awesome!
