Our friend Naveen Leekha (IIT KGP, CS-1999, Nehru Hall) was suffering from a very rare & aggressive form of cancer (NUT midline carcinoma). After battling the cancer bravely for about 8 months he passed away on May 25th 9.25pm. He leaves behind wife and two lovely daughters (age 4 & 7). As you can imagine, Naveen's wife, Prashanti, and their two young daughters have been left devastated by this ordeal.
This funding campaign has been set up to support his family through these testing times and long term education fund for Reva & Reha. Money cannot ease the pain the family is going through this very difficult time. However, your financial support will help take care of the material logistics and allow the family to focus more time on what is really important – to connect with each other and their loved ones now.
We have a dedicated facebook page for this campagin. Please feel free to send a request to join this group. Also, please help us spread the words so that we could maximize our support to the grieving family.
To maximize the impact of our support for Leekha and his family we have a few suggestions:
1) Please don't contribute anonymously. We are supporting one of our very own. So its nice to have a face associated with your support. Additionally, providing your name helps generate positive peer influence.
2) For all friends of Naveen from his college, we suggest a contribution of $500 or more to help Leekha's family at this critical time.
Never believe that a few caring people can’t change the world. For, indeed, that’s all who ever have.
