Kamalachi's Fund

My name is Emily and I am a 27 year old single mother of 4 boys and my 6 year old son Kamalachi was recently diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. This hit me so unexpectedly and I was devastated and in utter shock. I could not believe my vibrant red head was now going to battle cancer but I know no matter what it takes I am going to be there for him every step of the way to support him. He is strong but it's so hard not seeing him smile anymore, be in pain with nothing I can do to help, and see him cry to want to go back home and not deal with this anymore. Right now we are starting chemotherapy but we have a long uncertain road ahead of us. We are in Florida hospital for children until he is healthy enough to go home. We initially went to the hospital in our hometown for a simple fever that we were unable to control. After blood work was done we were transported to Orlando in critical condition and put in the pediatric intensive care unit, where I am sitting today. I never we would be spending our holidays this year. Everything  in my life was immediately shook up. I had to take a Family Medical Leave Act at my job and the makes everything so uncertain for us considering my family (myself and 4 boys) just lost over 50% of our income and we were already low income before taking the leave. The doctor says that Kamalachi will have to be hospital or home bound for about a year. I was a 2-3year old  teacher at rcma so schooling him at home is no concern I know I can do that. My biggest fears are balancing being a medical caregiver for Kamalachi, mom to my other boys, and head of household paying bills and managing our budget.  I am asking for any financial support to help with the 90+ mile trip (one way) going to and from the hospital for treatments & appointments, toiletries and food while staying at the hospital, and to help pay bills to keep our home. I have strong faith and am staying positive. We shall overcome this and ask for all of your prayers through this journey.
