Hi! I’m Justine. I am a 32 year old female and I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer (stage 3 invasive ductile carcinoma) at the beginning of May 2022. I have already finished step one of my treatment plan - surgery to remove the tumour and lymph nodes under my arm. We are currently in the process of fertility preservation (freezing embryos - science is crazy). I’ll be starting chemotherapy in the next month and my treatment will be aggressive which means I’ll likely lose my hair. Most of you know that I am a hairstylist so my I am very attached to my hair - it’s a part of who I am! I would love to return to work feeling like myself (as close to that as possible).
I will not be working until January or February 2023 and my fiancé, Koltaen, has taken some time off to help me out at home and take me to appointments. The whole situation has brought on unexpected costs and has forced us to tighten our financial belt more than we’d like. Its hard to ask for help, especially at a time when everyone is struggling to make ends meet. We are already blown away by the amount of love and support coming from friends and family over the last few weeks - seriously so grateful.
So I am asking for some help to get me to a goal of $2000 to cover the cost of a wig. If I end up raising more than my goal, I would love to put those funds toward any medical costs over and above what our insurance covers (physiotherapy, naturopathic support during/after chemo, fertility, etc. ) or living expenses. I am extremely grateful for any help along my journey ❤️ Thank you, thank you, thank you!
