My name is Susie Foster and I own DreamCatcher Farm in Silver Hill, Alabama. It was my “dream” to work with those with both mental and/or physical special needs through equine therapy. I have been certified in PATH/Eagala and other equine assisted learning models. Orchestrated through the Lord‘s perfect plan, the gift of special horses, and amazing volunteers, I’ve been able to fulfill a dream. Eleven years ago, I was given the most amazing horse, Justin. He came to DreamCatcher Farm after his owner was killed in a tragic car accident. He was my first therapy horse, and I have no doubt that God placed him here with a purpose which he has been fulfilling for 11 years and will continue to fulfill. Here at DreamCatcher Farm, children and adults with cerebral palsy, autistic spectrum disorder, down syndrome, deafness, blindness, behavioral issues, anxiety, and trauma have all been touched by Justin. He is a gentle giant, and “such a good boy” with a sweet soul. He is sensitive, tolerant, patient, and a champion! He is truly a blessing to so many. It takes a special horse to be a therapy horse, and Justin is a treasure to us.
Justin became very sick a week ago and is still healing. With the help of the medical team at Auburn Veterinary Medical Hospital, he is on the road to recovery. I am forever grateful. At the age of 27, he is still so strong and recovering beautifully! My reason for doing a GoFundMe campaign is not only to help raise funds for his medical expenses, but more so to have the opportunity to tell his story. So many people have experienced the amazing gift of Justin – the sweet young girl who was killed (his owner for 12 years), volunteers, the clients and their parents. Thank you for reading his story. I pray it blesses you in the same way that Justin has blessed so many! Any help from you would be greatly appreciated.
