My name is Gloria Casillas, I am the mother of Jenysis Casillas. I am recreating a new go fund me because the other one got deactivate for some reason.
Jenysis was a healthy 6 year old girl. She began displaying signs of symptoms late July of 2019. She was diagnosed with DIPG on August 1st of 2019 a diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma which is a tumor located in the middle of her brain stem. DIPG is an aggressive tumor that interferes with all bodily functions depriving a child of the ability to move, to communicate, and to even eat and drink. As the tumor grows it starts to effect vision, facial weakness, eye movement, all mobility, heartbeats, and breathing.
Jenysis has gone through Chemo, and 30 sessions of radiation to find, that her tumor has only grown larger, and treatment did not work. Jenysis underwent surgery to have a VP shunt placed in her head to relieve fluid build up, but has also been sent home on hospice care. There is nothing more that can be done for her by our medical team. There is no cure.
We have applied for social security but do not qualify. We do not qualify for government assistance programs because we exceed the qualifying limit by $200. I am currently on leave without pay, and my husband will soon be exhausting his time.
It would be impossible for us to function with no income while trying to care for Jenysis. Each moment with our daughter are cherished precious moments. Your donations will allow us even more time with her and an opportunity to make more memories. Despite all that Jenysis has been through, she is still very much our daughter. So the relief you offer us in this area is truly needed and appreciated.
