On July 27, 2021, Talia was in a horrible car accident. She was driving to work and lost control of her vehicle. Her vehicle spun, flipped and was stopped by an oak tree. Talia does not remember anything from the accident other than the second she felt herself sliding she said to herself, “This is going to be bad.” God embraced our Talia in that car accident as several emergency personnel, along with several doctors, have said she should have died or have been paralyzed in that accident. Talia fractured 4 vertebrae in her back and neck, has 2 broken ribs, a broken clavicle, a small puncture in her lung, several deep cuts and scrapes on her arm and massive bruising from this car accident. There was a gentleman at the scene of the accident that saw headlights off on the side of the road. Thankfully he felt it in his heart to pull over and go find our girl! When he reached the vehicle, Talia had already called 911 (she still has no memory of this) and was just coming to. She could not remember anything that just happened or her code to her phone. Thank God the gentleman found a notification with “Daddy” on it and was able to contact Talia’s parents. They were able to get to the site of the accident prior to Talia being put in the ambulance. Talia was life flighted to Sutter Roseville where they were able to stabilize her spine and neck prior to Talia going into surgery to fuse the broken vertebrae with pins and rods. Talia could not walk, sit up or move as the slightest movement could paralyze her. The surgery was very successful and Talia will be in a back brace and a neck brace while the fractures continue to heal. Talia will be off work for several months undergoing rehab physical therapy.
Talia and her beautiful family would like to thank our amazing prayer team and all who have sent their prayers and assistance in this time. Only prayer, a strong support system and GOD could have made this horrific accident into a beautiful and peaceful time for all of us, especially our warrior Talia. More updates will be provided as they come in! Thank you all for your support and care of our beautiful Talia and all of her friends and family in this traumatic time.
